Village Family Assistance: Pretrovirivka Bread Program

Twice a month, our volunteer Katya visits a local convenience store to settle our outstanding credit. This credit supports two families with multiple children who rely on the store daily for bread. This initiative is part of Our Home Ukraine’s Village Assistance Program, which aims to support disadvantaged families in rural areas.

Through this program, we identified three families headed by single or struggling mothers, each with several children requiring more substantial and direct daily support. We partnered with “Orchidiya,” a local store whose manager generously agreed to provide these families with a daily loaf of bread.

Every day or every other day, a child from each family visits the store to collect fresh bread for themselves and their family members. Currently, we are assisting three families: Inna V.’s family, which includes 3 children aged 6-10; Alla K.’s family, with 5 children aged 2-14; and Yuliya L.’s family, with 4 children aged 2-12.

This program was launched in February 2024.

These two boys come to the store together daily to pick up their bread:
