OHU’s arts and culture program brings the healing power of art to underserved children by taking them on various outings throughout Odesa. Nearly every month, children from Izmail or the village of Petrovirivka go on excursions to places like the Palace of Culture, the Odesa Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre named after V. Vasylko, and the Odesa Zoo.
OHU staff works closely with community leaders and educators to design relevant and engaging experiences for each outing. Since 2023, OHU has hosted 18 cultural excursions for 746 participants.
MAJOR milestones
April 2023: Program launch
Annual Totals: Ten cultural excursions with 353 attendees
May 2024: Purchase of new uniforms for the Petrovirivka School girls’ volleyball team
June 2024: Sponsorship of food and prizes for Petrovirivka Children’s Holiday
